Slowly Moving Forward

When I last posted, I was getting ready for the Queeny Art Fair that took place in August. The fair was a great success! Lots of people stopped by my booth, and quite a few of them went home with some of my work. Thanks so much to everyone who supported the arts by attending the art fair!

Since the art fair ended, I had knee replacement surgery in September, and I'm still on the mend. I'm now able to drive, and can walk on my own, but I have a ways to go before I have the full range of motion for my knee.

In the early days of my recovery, before I could get down to my basement studio, I spent time at my dining room table creating new collage magnets for my dwindling supply. For the last few weeks, I've been able to get back to the basement and have been working on some gel printing. Once again, I signed up for Drew Steinbrecher's, Gel Printers' Summit. Lots of tutorial videos from 14 different artists! I learned a lot and can’t wait to use my printed papers in some new collage pieces.

Prior to my surgery, I had entered a couple of art exhibits. I'm pleased to say that my collage, The Space to Dream, was accepted in the St. Louis Artists Guild's Member Exhibition. It has also been accepted into the My Art My Soul exhibition at the Artisans in the Loop Gallery in University City, MO. That exhibition takes place from November 8, 2025 - January 21-2026.

I also had a piece accepted in the Webster Arts Small Works XXII exhibit. Much to my surprise, the piece, Floating Bloom, received the Best in Show Award for the exhibit! I'm so honored to have received this recognition! The exhibit will be on display at the Webster Groves Public Library through October 31, 2025.

Finally, some people have asked about when I might be teaching one of my collage classes. I'm thinking that it will probably be early spring. By then, my knee should be in much better shape. I'll keep you posted.
