Intuition and Intention

I'm so honored to be featured as the Artisan of the Month in the August issue of St. Louis Homes and Lifestyles magazine! It's a privilege to be able to share some of the story of my artistic journey, and examples of my artwork, in this prestigious publication.

In July, I was the featured Juried artist in the Greater St. Louis Artists' Newsletter. I'm so grateful for all of this recognition!

I will also be one of the exhibiting artists at the upcoming 2026 Fall Queeny Art Fair, which takes place on Labor Day weekend, September 4-6, 2026 at the Greensfelder Recreation Center in Queeny Park in St. Louis, MO.

I currently have my mixed media collage, Strip Away Layers, on display at Soulard Art Gallery as part of their, The Abstract Art Show. That exhibition runs through August 14, 2026.

During these summer months, I have been able to create some new collage pieces that are pictured below. The piece on the left, Notes From the Garden, harks back to a series of small (4”x6”) collages I made some years ago in which I incorporated some of my photos. I loved that series and had also wanted to create a larger piece using similar techniques. Again, I used color photos of predominately white flowers that I converted to black & white images. I then increased the contrast, and applied a posterized filter in Photoshop. The neutral background, made up of wallpaper scraps, painted and gel printed papers, provides a strong contrast with the flower photos. This collage is flush mounted to a 16”x12” cradled wood panel.

This piece in the middle, titled Confident Beauty, features a vase of orange tulips. Hand-printed paper and book pages, as well as wallpaper scraps were used to create the imagery. The piece is 12”x12” and is flush mounted on a cradled wood panel.

My most recent mixed media collage, pictured on the right, is titled, Like Fireworks. It’s on a 24”x12” cradle board. The flowers were created with gel printed tissue paper and enhanced with acrylic paint. This piece is larger in size than I usually work, but I’m trying to challenge myself to try some bigger pieces. I do love painting with paper!
