Collage Class & More

BREAKING NEWS!

I will be teaching another session of my Mixed Media Collage class on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10am-1pm at Green Door Art Gallery in Webster Groves, MO.

The 3-hour class will cover defining collage and demonstrating the collage process,

incorporating design elements and principles in collage composition, and

introducing materials and techniques for creating collage. For more information about the class and how to register, visit the exhibitions and events page of my website.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited my booth at the Queeny Art Fair last month. It was a pleasure meeting new people and and seeing old friends. I made several sales, and the art fair was a great success!

Currently, my collage, Due North, is on display at the National Collage Society's Small Format Exhibition at the Sasse Museum of Art in Pomona, CA.

The exhibition runs from May 2-June 28, 2025. All of the works in this exhibit are 4"x6" and mounted to 8"x10".

Also, in the last couple of months, I've created some new collage pieces, which are pictured below.

On the left is, Patchwork. This piece harks back to some grid compositions that I did some years ago. This piece is 15"x15" and features small beads and tiles, for an added dimensional quality.

The middle piece, Dancing Vines, is a 9"x12" collage on a cradle board. It was actually created over a collage that I made earlier, but no longer liked. Some elements of the original collage are still visible, but I'm much happier with this composition.

The collage on the right is Nature's Jewels. It is 11"x14" and is also on a cradle board. This is another of my floral compositions created from layers of hand printed tissue paper.

Finally, if you've visited my website in the past, you may now notice some minor changes. I reorganized my collages page and grouped the images by subject matter, Botanicals, Abstracts, Architectural, and Narrative. I hope this makes for easier navigation. Additionally, my prints and products page is no longer part of the website. I have terminated my membership with Fine Art America. Their commission policy changed and my limited sales didn't off-set the yearly membership fee.

Prints of some of my work are available and I hope to have a new webpage with that information in the near future.
