I can't believe we're almost half way through February of 2025! I haven't posted in a while so I'll begin with the end of 2024.
As I stated in my last post, I'd become obsessed with creating floral collages using layers of printed tissue paper to create the leaves and petals. I created the two collages below in November of 2024. The piece on the left is titled, Fire & Ice. It is 14" x 11" and is mounted on a cradle board. I'm pleased to say that the piece sold at the beginning of this month.
The collage on the left, Discovery, is on a 12" square cradle board, and in a floating canvas frame. It sells for $200.
Additionally, I also created a couple of original collage notecards using printed tissue paper. (I did mention I was obsessed!)
These notecards are 5"x7" and sell for $15 each.
Two more of my collages, Moonrise, and You Are Here, sold in November. One from Artisans in the Loop and the other from Green Door Art Gallery.
Now, on to 2025. My first collage of 2025 was created for the upcoming Weather Exhibition at the Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, OH. I had originally planned a completely different composition, but in going through my collage fodder I ran across some pieces of the Citrsolv paper, which changed my whole direction. Most of the papers used in this piece are National Geographic magazine pages that were treated with Citrasolv, a solvent that dissolves the ink, creating some wonderful effects. I won’t find out if the piece is accepted in the exhibit until March.

This collage is titled, Downpour, and is 12”x12” and mounted on a cradle board.
My most recent mixed media collage, is, Building Arts. For this piece, I combined photos I’d taken of decorative architectural elements with found and printed papers. If you’re familiar with my work, you’d know that architecture, whether in the subject of cityscapes or certain architectural elements, has been a recurring theme.

In this composition, I juxtaposed the organic, decorative elements with a grid arrangement of textured background papers to convey both the structural and decorative elements of architecture. The piece is mounted on a cradle board and is 11”x14” and sells for $175.
Finally, I have some exhibition news to share! I have been selected by the Center for Spiritual Living as their March Artist of the Month. My work will be on display at their St. Louis location,12875 Fee Fee Rd., from March 1-27, 2025, with an opening reception on March 2, 2025 from 12-2pm. I’m so pleased to have been selected for this wonderful opportunity. I’ll have more details on this event in the near future.
My collage, At Dusk, (on the left, below) has been accepted in the Webster Arts, Small Works XXI exhibit, which runs from March 1-31, 2025 at the Webster Groves Public Library, 301 E, Lockwood Ave, Webster Groves, MO. There will be a closing reception for the exhibit at the library on March 28 at 6pm.
I’m also pleased to announce that my mixed media collage, Beyond, (on the right) was accepted into the Cut/Fold/Press exhibition at Craft Alliance, 5080 Delmar Blvd., in St. Louis. That exhibition runs from March 14-April 25, 2025. There will be an opening reception On March 21.
