Quarantine continues and I find that these small collages are not only fun to create, but the process also helps me to relax and keep stress at bay. I enjoy looking for papers that complement each other in both color and texture. I cut various shapes and then add or discard pieces to create the overall composition. It's rather like putting together a jigsaw puzzle.
This piece, Off-kilter, is reminiscent of an earlier piece, Askew, that has a similar arrangement.
The piece to the right is titled, Ville la Nuit, (city at night in French). I love working with geometric shapes to create imagined cityscapes. I've created quite a few cityscapes in both collage and pastel.
This last piece, Layered Landscape, is another in a series of contrived landscapes that I've created using collage and acrylic paint. This is the first one done in the square format.
