I've recently discovered the technique of using the natural solvent, Citra Solv, to dissolve the ink on magazine pages. I'm using old National Geographic Magazines as their pages are ceramic coated and work best for this technique.
I'm still experimenting with the technique and discovering how much solvent to use and the best application process. I've certainly created quite a few muddy, black messes.
For this latest collage, Moving Through the World, I've used some of the Citra Solv papers, wallpaper scraps and an image transfer. The papers in the top left and bottom right corners were scraps from previous collages that already had a torn edge. I decided to incorporate those torn edges into the breaks in the grid arrangement of the composition.
