My latest pastel piece is this landscape entitled, Wetland Refuge. Landscapes are not my usual subject matter, but I enjoyed playing with the color palette as well as the various textures and surfaces within the scene. The piece is 11"x10" and is matted and framed to 18"x18". It sells for $300.
I also completed a new collage, Night Leaves. This piece began with a mono print created on a gel plate. The image was printed on a book page and is the central focal point of the piece. I found the perfect background in my collection of papers and proceeded to create the finished composition by adding additional paper elements and acrylic paint embellishments. This piece is mounted on a 10" square cradle board panel. It sells for $150.
I'm pleased to share that my collage, Far and Wide, which was part of the Abstract Abstraction Exhibition, was sold from that exhibit. My pastel piece, City Street, was accepted in the juried St. Louis Artists' Guild Members' Exhibition. That exhibit is from September 10 - October 16, 2021.
I have also been accepted in the Artists' Boutique Fine Art & Craft Show. This is a 2 day event that takes place on November 6 & 7, 2021. I will have a booth with my collage pieces at the event, which is held at the Kirkwood Community Center in Kirkwood, MO from 10am - 4pm on both days. This is my first such event and I hope it is successful.
