Two New Collage Pieces

Updated: Sep 3, 2021

It’s been a while, but I’ve finally completed 2 new collages. Both are mounted on cradled wood panels, a substrate I've been using a lot of late.

The first, Reach Your Own Shore, is an abstract landscape created with a variety of papers, including fibrous mulberry papers, which create a unique quality, especially when torn. The piece measures 12”x18”x1.5” and sells for $190.

The second piece, titled, Any Day Now, began as a 5 minute collage "sketch" exercise. I expanded on the original 6 “ square piece adding additional papers, acrylic paint for texture, stamping and edge definition, and finished the piece with handmade ceramic tiles. The finished collage is mounted on a 10” square cradle board.

I enjoy the challenge of expanding on a collage “sketch” to create an entirely new composition.

This piece has already sold to my friend, Mary D. Thanks for your friendship and support over so many years!
